Howard Jensen, 94, of Viborg, SD formerly of Irene, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home in Viborg.
Shirley Howard Jensen age 94 passed away on Saturday Feb. 24 2018 at Pioneer Memorial Nursing home Viborg, South Dakota. He was born January 8 1924 in Wakonda South Dakota to Olive and Casper Jensen. He attended Pleasant Valley Rural school and graduated from Wakonda High School. He served in the Air Force in World War II and married Deloris Levon Hevle on September 2 1948 in Volin, South Dakota. He spent his time farming and raising six sons. In 1966 the family moved to Calverton, Maryland where he worked at Peoples Drug Store. After years of retirement he and his wife Deloris moved back to Irene, South Dakota enjoying family and friends. He was a member of Gingrich Dixon Post 13, Wakonda Hall Thompson post 193 and attended Calvary Lutheran Church.
Shirley Howard Jensen is survived by his loving wife Deloris Levon Jensen, sisters’-in-law Janice (Palmer) Erickson and Gerry Nelson, seven children; one deceased daughter Diane Lynn and six sons Tom, Dennis, Chuck, Donald, David, Steve, five daughters’- in-law, Marianne, Leslie, Andrea, Connie, and Laura, sisters Maxine Cook, Alberta Pearson and predeceased by Evangeline Jensen. His nine grandchildren Russell, Casey and wife Sarah, Nicholas, Jordan, Kyle and wife Amie, Chad, Corey, Victoria and husband Travis, and Brianne also two great grandchildren Sydney and Bryce.
