Janet Rose "Jan" Aune (Taylor)
"Janet (Jan) Rose Aune, 74, passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2018, at her home in Sioux Falls, SD under hospice care surrounded by her loving family. Jan was born on June 5th, 1943, at Viborg, SD hospital to Melvin & Arlene Taylor of Hurley, SD. Jan grew up on the farm in Hurley and graduated from Hurley High School in 1961. Jan had various jobs in her youth de-tasseling corn, working in the local café, Hoeing sugar beets, etc..
Jan married Dennis Aune on December 22nd, 1973, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Hurley, SD. Jan did bookwork for Denny's Trucking Company in Hurley for years and she was also a homemaker.
When Jan and Denny moved to Sioux Falls, Jan did some part time work setting up store displays and she also worked part time at the café in the Sanford Wellness Center.
Jan looked forward to the weekly outings for dinner and a friendly game of dominoes with their friends the Bultsmas and the Bittners for many years.
Jan loved traveling and enjoyed trips to Texas and Arizona and was hoping to go to Washington this year to visit her best friends Mike and Linda Cooper.
She had been struggling with various health problems for the last 10 years.
Jan was preceded in death by her brother, Robert (Butch) Taylor, mother-in-law and father-in-laws, Alma and Ernest Aune Sr. , Brother-in-law, Ernest Aune Jr and his wife Luverne, and brother-in-law Bob Knudsen.
She is survived by her husband Denny Aune, son Mike Alberts of Sioux Falls, SD, daughter Brenda (Jeff) Schrunk of Harrisburg, SD, grandchildren Trent Przymus and Marty of Omaha, NE, Ty Przymus of La Porte, TX, Jacquelyn Alberts of Sioux Falls, SD, Alyssa Schrunk of Harrisburg, SD, and five great grandchildren, also sisters Doris Knudsen of Viborg, SD and Mary (Jim) Karsten of Ellendale, MN and one brother Rodney Taylor of Sioux Falls. Jan was loved by many and will be missed greatly. Blessed be her memory."
