David Lee Chase, of Yankton, passed away March 5, 2018 at his home in Yankton, SD.
David Lee Chase was born March 5, 1934 at home in Falk County, SD to Henry and Gladys Chase. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He completed eight years of country grade school.
He married Wilma Barkl in 1954 and to this union one son, Steve Chase was born. He married Loretta Reggencamp in 1963. To this union one daughter was born Tammy Bieganouski. He worked as a certified welder for Minneapolis Electric Steel in Minneapolis, MN for many years.
He moved back to SD in 1984 and operated Chase Welding in Center Point, SD. He retired and moved to Yankton in 2009. He enjoyed going to the Senior Center in Yankton, where he met Mary Garoutte. They both loved to dance and going to rodeos. They attended church together at St. Johns in Yankton. They became great friends and she was his care taker to the end.
David is survived by his special friend Mary Garoutte of Yankton, son Steve (Mary) Chase of Conroe, TX, daughter Tammy (Matt) Bieganouski of Salem, SD, sisters; Irene (Lloyd) Luden of Tea, SD, Donna Marcotte of Irene, SD, sister-in-law Joy Chase of Huffman, TX, and 22 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by Henry and Gladys Chase, Jim Chase, Carol Chase, and Bill Marcotte.
