Condolence From: Jeanne (Mellem) Hill
Condolence: I was catching up on reading the P & D and saw Ron's obituary. I just wanted to let you know how sorry I am to hear about his loss. The remembrance you wrote in the paper was beautiful. It sounds like you two had a happy life together. I wish I could have known him better. Cyndi, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I would love to get-together with you sometime.
Take care - Jeanne

Condolence From: Ronnie Rice
Condolence: I first met Ron in Oct. 1998, my first time in South Dakota, second person that ever spoke to me at THE PIT. I was in Wakonda to pheasant hunt with my friends from Virginia. My friends knew lots of people in town, since it was my first time, I knew nobody. Within 30 minutes of arriving in town, I sat at the bar to order something to eat. Ginger, the first person that spoke to me , took my order, after giving me the options, steak or pork. I ordered steak and Ginger left. The guy sitting to my right, leaned in towards me and said: YOU should have ordered the pork. He said nothing else, just finished his beer while I ate my steak dinner. This was the second person to speak to me in a strange town, 1500 miles from home. I thought he was some crazy person. I have a sense of humor, after knowing Ron for 20 years, I found out he had a big sense of humor. To this day, I laugh every time I think of Ron telling me I should have ordered the pork. As I spent more time in Wakonda and became good friends with Ron, I discovered he was a pork producer. Now I understand his humor!I feel very close to Ron. Great friend, hunter, father, grandfather. My future trips to South Dakota will be a little sad knowing Ron will not be there. I wish to extend my sincere condolence to the Nelson family. Ron will be truly missed.

Condolence: I did not know Ron long, but when my family and I purchased some gilts from Ron it left a lasting impression on my young sons. They talk about Ron the pig farmer a lot and we talk about him when we feed the pigs every day. His passion for pigs and young people in the industry will be truly missed.

Condolence From: Daniela
Condolence: My condolences to the Nelson family during this difficult time. In the Bible, Jehovah God gives us hope. Acts 24:15 says, “there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” Revelation 21:4 says, “and he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more.” Very soon we will see the fulfillment of these promises here on Earth. We hope you find comfort in God’s promises.
