Connie Wulff, 67, of Vermillion, SD, passed away peacefully at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA, on February 11, 2019.

Connie was born in Chamberlain, SD, on February 7, 1952. She grew up in Pierre and graduated from Riggs High School in 1970. She went on to earn her degree in wildlife biology from South Dakota State University.

After graduation, Connie settled in Vermillion and worked at the South Dakota State chem lab. Her career flourished when she joined the Clay County Conservation District, where she worked for many decades. It was her dream opportunity to pursue her passion for wildlife habitat preservation and restoration.

Connie was an avid reader and enjoyed learning about the history of Vermillion and the surrounding area. She loved working with her two dogs, including showing her great dane, Killer, at local dog shows and leading obedience classes for the kennel club with her black labrador retriever, Jake.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents Barbara (Luckey) Wulff and Marcus Wulff. She is survived by her sister Peggy Nissen of Cupertino, CA, her sister Judy Devereux and brother-in-law William Devereux of Milpitas, CA, and her niece Tracey (Riley) Frizzell of San Jose, CA.

Connie and I had been friends for over 45 years, and it's hard to imagine that I can no longer just pick up the phone for a long chat. I have many fond memories of her and can still hear her laugh. She used to tease me when I got my old cat "Mr. Black" some years ago. She would say "Well, it didn't take him long to get YOU trained"! And, when saying good-by she would say "and, pat the cat"!. I will miss her. To Peggy, Judy & Bill, Tracy & Riley, I am sorry for your loss.

I was dorry to her of her passing. Between working and helping her, we became good friends. I enjoyed our conversations, meals, and time spent together at the CCCD. Prayers and thoughts for her family

Fly high Princess. So very many fond memories and fun times with you. God truly blessed me with your friendship. I spent many hours boxing trees for her during tree season. We ate many meals together over the years and had a fun trip to Spearfish canon one year. She was truly a remarkable and intelligent lady. Please keep an eye on my boy in heaven and will always treasure your friendship. Until we meet again my friend. Love always!

Connie was a Class of 70' classmate of mine in Pierre. Remember her very well for her long straight hair and fun personality. I remember exactly where she lived in Pierre on the corner of Harrison Street. My condolences to her family. I have posted her obituary on our Facebook Class of 70 group website.
