Joyce Anne (Phipps) Syme Oursland, 84, of Santa Monica, CA passed away Friday, March 12 at the MD Anderson Cancer Institute in Houston, TX.
Joyce Phipps was born September 4, 1936 in Wichita, KS to Seward and Ila (Warner) Phipps. She attended school in Kansas and received her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Wichita State University and worked as a real estate developer, accountant, and was an entrepreneur. Joyce is currently married to John Oursland. Joyce and John are Christians that lived and believe “You make your Heaven on Earth!”
Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 10:30 AM at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Wakonda, SD with burial to follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Wakonda.
The family requests that donations can be sent to the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 209 Iowa St., Wakonda, SD 57073. The service will be livestreamed at www.facebook.com/hansenfuneral.
