Lyle James Preston, 84, of Burbank South Dakota died April 3, 2021 at his home.
He was born May 28, 1936, in South Sioux City, Nebraska. On December 14, 1963, he married Jerilyn Kathryn Shanahan in Huron, South Dakota at St. Martin's Catholic Church. He retired from the United States Navy in 1975 after 20 years of service. He had 3 tours of duty to the Vietnam area on the USS Towers DDG9.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Jerilyn, and two children, Theresa Marie Preston of Kansas City Missouri, and James Lyle Preston of Topeka Kansas. James' wife is Stephanie (Hochstein) Preston. There are two Grandson's by James and Stephanie. Kaleb Preston and Jase Preston. They are both in the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Olive Preston and siblings, Alvin, Albert, Marvin, Evelyn, Luella and Lillian.
