I have fond memories of Pat from our Small Faith Sharing group at St. Joseph Church in Marion, IA. She was always so kind and thoughtful, encouraging others to be understanding toward other people.
She went out of her way to help other people. When a lady at St. Joseph Church could no longer drive, Pat picked her up to take her to Mass, until Pat's illness made it impossible for her to do that.
My sympathies go out to her family. She was a wonderful person. I know you will greatly miss her.

Since I didn't see anything in the obituary about Pat's in the 7 or 8 years she spent in Marion, I wanted to let the family know how much we enjoyed Pat. She was a lovely lady and a very kind person. We had breakfast with Ray and Pat at the Legions several times. I was in Small Group at church with Pat and I remember seeing her at daily Mass before she had health problems. We've had dinner at their home and they have been at our home for dinner and rosary. She was a delightful person to be around. Our deepest sympathy to everyone.

So sorry to hear of Pat’s death. I have fond memories of the times we spent with her while she lived in Marion Iowa. Pat and Ray were such a nice couple. We always had such a fun time with them when they played 500 with us. They both were avid card players. I remember the last time I saw them was on a walk at Lowe Park.....a very loving couple. There were many KC events that we shared with Pat and Ray.too. We missed her when she moved to Nebraska. May she Rest In Peace.

My heart is deeply saddened that I had to find out of Pat’s passing this way. She was always so welcoming and wonderful to me and my family . We especially enjoyed our trip with her on the train to Oregon. I will never forget her .

We lived on Glass Street [across the street] from the Berglunds in Sioux City, Iowa for years. Pat had a joyful, infectious laugh! My father, Eldon Jacobsen [a.k.a. Jake] always called Pat his 'sister,' as he never had one. My mother, Dee loved Pat too. Rest in Peace.
