Mary Jean Bremer, 101, died March 1 at the Sanford Care Center in
Vermillion, South Dakota. She was born September 3, 1917 in York,
Nebraska, daughter of Carl Bremer and Emma Elizabeth (Jeske)
Bremer.
Miss Bremer was a director and part owner of Paint Brush Corporation in Vermillion where she was Secretary/Treasurer. She worked at the company from 1948 until her retirement in 2006. She grew up in Aurora, Nebraska where she graduated from Aurora High School. She also attended the University of Nebraska. Miss Bremer worked for the Internal Revenue Service. She served in the United States Army in the Office of Army Intelligence in Washington, D.C. from 1944 to 1946.
She was predeceased by her parents and by her sister, Elizabeth
Bremer, with whom she remained very close until her death in 2000.
Miss Bremer was an enthusiastic world traveler and enjoyed two safaris in Africa. She was a partner in Bull Terriers of Melrose, a kennel, which bred and showed English Bull Terriers throughout the United States. And, also was a member of The Bull Terrier Club of America.
