Melanie Marie Bryde (Hondel)

Melanie Bryde, 71, of Vermillion, passed away in the early hours of Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Avera Majestic Bluffs Hospice House in Yankton, SD.
Melanie Hondel Bryde was born on July 5, 1947 in West Allis, WI. She married John F Bryde on August 2, 1968. They relocated to Vermillion that year and moved into what has been the "Bryde House" on Catalina in early 1969.
She loved to sing, stitch, bake and grow beautiful flowers. She hung a special portrait of Jesus on her stairwell so that she could be greeted by his face every day and be happy. Her only regret was knowing that those who love her will feel pain and loss at her leaving.
Those who mourn her include her daughters, Melanie (Justin Morrill) and Bonnie, her son John, jr. (Stacey Scherschligt) and her loving grandchildren, Tyler, Rowan, and Rayna Malmberg, Kable and Kade Morrill, and Alison and Shawn Bryde; her sister, Judy Evanow, brothers Dennis, Paul, and Christopher, her nieces and nephews, and many friends, in particular her cherished friends Dawn Jensen and Dale and Lisa Johnson.
Waiting on the other side to joyfully welcome her Home are her husband, John F Bryde, her parents Carl and Colette Hondel, her brothers Jack, Bill, and Fred, many more friends and relatives she loved and who loved her, and, of course, her beloved dogs.
