Kayleen (Jorgensen) Johnson-Deacon (79) of Volin, SD, formally of Yankton, SD, passed away on February 11, 2020 at the Wakonda Heritage Manor, in Wakonda, SD, surrounded by family. We lost a family member and friend while heaven gained a ray of light.
Kay was known for her kind heart and endless love of children. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her love and kindness had no boundaries and extended beyond family to approximately 80 foster children. She was also known for her colorful outfit and face paint when she dressed up as a kid’s superhero, the clown Jiggerbites.
She enjoyed spending time with friends, family, children, volunteering, traveling, and her late introduction to farm life. She also enjoyed singing in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church choir and was active in the St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Kay is survived by her husband Rodney Deacon, sister Jean (Louis) Lucero, and brother Dennis (Danute) Jorgensen.
Daughters Kelly (Brian) Bellmer, Becky (Marty) Raue and Kristi Johnson.
Sons Butch Deacon, Danny (Michelle) Johnson, Darren Johnson, and Todd Deacon.
Grandchildren Cory Bellmer, Zachary Deacon, Breanna Deacon, Lakyn Humphrey, Maleik Franklin, Gracie Deacon, Zendaya Franklin, and Temprance Deacon.
Great grandchildren Kameron Bellmer, Talon Bellmer, Aunalei Cyrus, and Scarlett Grasso.
Kay was proceeded in death by husband Ronald Johnson, parents Emma and Harold Jorgensen, and daughter Christine Deacon.
