Edmond Dale Ouellette, 84, of Vermillion passed away Tuesday, June 27 at the Sanford Vermillion Hospital.
Ed was born February 25, 1939, in Burbank, SD to Leo and Cecelia (Lambert) Ouellette. He attended country school in Burbank and married Norma Ernst in Vermillion on September 26, 1960. He served in the US Army from 1961-1964. In 1965 he and his brother Richard started Ouellette Trucking company shelling corn and hauling livestock. Ed made a lifetime career out of trucking, serving the regional agriculture community before retiring at age 70.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years Norma of Vermillion, Julie Mart (Jeff) of Vermillion, Alan Ouellette (Sheri) of Vermillion, Marcie Williams of Sioux Falls, SD, Carol O ‘Neal-Weir (Joe) of Nokomis, FL, and Larry Ouellette (Kathie) of Green Bay, WI along with 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Ed was proceeded in death by his parents Leo and Cecelia, sister Beverly Beck, brother Richard Ouellette, son-in-law Lanny O ‘Neal, and grandchild Ryan O ‘Neal.
Visitation will be held at 10:00am with memorial service at 11:00am on Saturday July 1st at St. Agnes Catholic Church. HansenFuneralHome.com.
