Betty May Grause, 76, of Vermillion, SD passed away Friday, Jan. 3, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.
Betty Brunick was born March 1, 1943 in Seattle, WA, the youngest child of Robert and Doris (Walker) Brunick. Her family moved back to South Dakota when she was quite young, and she attended Vermillion Schools. She raised three children and was very involved with her ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Besides mother and grandmother, she took on many other duties at rodeos and horse shows working as timekeeper and sometimes even the official one. She was an advice giver and a lot of the times you didn’t even have to ask for it. She was a supervisor and Joe was her manager, she would tell him what needed to be done and he would manage to do it.
Sweet Betty, as she would remind people, was many things to many people and everyone new her was grateful for her role for them.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years Joe, daughter Pam Watson, a son Bill (Tammy) Watson, daughter Jerri (Tim) Gale and her ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren and a sister Barb Reifenrath of Upland, CA.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, first husband William Watson and a brother Robert Brunick.
Betty requests casual attire for the services.
