Delores Berniece Hinseth

Delores Bernice Hinseth went to be with the lord on Sunday, December 26, 2021, at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Calvary Lutheran Church, Irene, beginning at 10:30 AM. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Delores was born on June 1, 1926, to Willie and Rose (Jepsen) Jensen at Menno, SD. She and her family then moved to Viborg, SD area when they lived during the hard times of the 1930’s. Delores worked at Flyger Telephone Exchange and as a waitress in the Viborg Café.

Arnold and Delores were united in marriage on January 14, 1948. They were blessed with one daughter, Laurel, in 1951. They farmed in the Irene, SD area until 2003, when they moved to Sioux Falls, SD, to be closer to Laurel and her family.
Delores was a member of Spring Valley Lutheran Church, Salem Lutheran, Calvary Lutheran Church, and St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. She was very active volunteering in the church including, teaching Sunday school, making quilts for the needy, helping in the kitchen, and church circle.
She will be greatly missed by her husband Arnold, daughter Laurel (Jim) Luke, grandson Dan (Becky) Luke, and great-grandchildren Alex (Rachel) and Elizabeth Luke. Also surviving are sister Shirley Jensen and brother Roger (Phyllis) Jensen and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents, sister, and brother- in law Pearl and Merlin Hinseth and brother-in-law Delmar Jensen.
