Robyn Lea Rae (Hunter) Jones passed away peacefully on July 5, 2019 at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota surrounded by family.
Robyn was born to Ivan and Dorothy (Brown) Hunter on April 10, 1950. She grew up in Vermillion and received her education in the Vermillion school district. After graduating high school, she attended school for nursing and became an LPN and began working. After her nursing career, she held several jobs in the Vermillion community.
She spent her life devoted to taking care of her nieces, nephews and others. She was known for her love of family, playing cards, bingo, swimming, watching movies, cooking and dancing.
Robyn married Richard “Dick” Jones on January 6, 1989.
Robyn is survived by her two sons: Mark Hunter and Scott (Stacey) Hunter of Flandreau; two grandsons, Rowden and Peyton (Flandreau); five siblings; Denny Hunter (Irene), Cheryl Kurtz (Omaha, NE), Phyllis Hunter (Pierre, SD), Rhonda (Blake) Hart, Yankton, SD and Kelleen (Curt) Gregg, Vermillion and many very special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; brother, Perry; and special friend, Randy Anglin.
A celebration of life/memorial service will be held for Robyn on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at the Hansen Funeral Home in Vermillion from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a service at 7:00 p.m.
