Stanley Adolph Kronaizl, 92, of Vermillion, SD passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Sanford Hospital in Vermillion SD after a brief illness.
Stanley was born May 15, 1928 in Utica, SD to Joseph and Sophie (Kortan) Kronaizl. He graduated from Meckling High School in 1947 and served in the Army at Fort Lewis Washington.
On June 1st, 1959, he married Maurine Foerster and they lived on their farm in rural Meckling, SD for 39 years. In 1998, they moved to Vermillion, SD.
Stanley enjoyed gardening and sharing his produce with family and friends. He loved Polka music and dancing. He was on several bowling teams in his younger days. Later, his grandkids received many tractor rides on the farm.
He was a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church, the VFW, the Moose Lodge of Yankton, and a Norway School Board Member.
He is survived by his daughters Denise (Keith) Amundson, Carla (Mark) Hansen and Sheila (Mike) Huth. Grandchildren Eric, Ethan (Olivia) Amundson, Erin (Blake) Boysen; Cassandra (Cory) Meng, Jesse Hansen; Nichole and Brian Huth; 4 great-grandchildren: Augustus, Walter and Axel Amundson and Quinn Meng. His sister, Lillian Abild, also survives him sisters-in-law Barbara, Jewell and Judy Kronaizl, Donna Mae Nuss as well as many nieces and nephews.
His parents precede him in death, his wife, Maurine in 2017, as well as brothers: Adolph, Joe, Tom, Jim, Henry and Steven Kronaizl and sisters Marie Graceffa and Helen Jones.
The family would like to thank Dr. Yelverton, the Vermillion Medical Clinic, and the Sanford Hospital Nursing and Support Staff for all of their wonderful care for Stanley.
Private Family mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 24 at the St. Agnes Catholic Church with burial to follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Vermillion. The service will be live streamed at www.facebook.com/hansenfuneral.
