Lucille Bryant was born on April 12, 1924 at home in Madison, WI to Bertrum and Martha (Olson) Bryant. The doctor wrote April 11th on her birth certificate, while her mother said the birth happened after midnight. Lucy was happy to celebrate her birth for two days each year.

She graduated from the University of Wisconsin High School. During WWII, she moved to Fort Wayne, IN to work for the Army Air Corp. After the war, she met the love of her life, Robert Lansing, while attending Spanish class at the University of Wisconsin. She had worked for the Madison Gas and Electric Company, the Unemployment Office in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and the State of Wisconsin in Madison.

She and Bob enjoyed many years in Madison, playing bridge, dancing, visiting with relatives and vacationing in northern Wisconsin. They loved watching Wisconsin sports, and Lucy remained an avid fan of the Badgers, Brewers and Packers throughout her life. They retired to Tucson, AZ in 1989 and loved the wildlife, weather and friends. They moved to Vermillion in 2008 to be near their daughter and her family as they grew older.

She was active in the Vermillion Senior Center, loved to play bridge, was an excellent cook and baker, and was known for her cookies and pies. She enjoyed animals and watching and feeding the birds. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She loved hearing from her many nieces and nephews and their families. Lucy was a true people person, and was interested in everyone she met.
