Marilyn Leola Gregoire

Marilyn Leola Gregoire, 86, of Vermillion, passed away June 29, 2024, at the Sanford Care Center in Vermillion, SD.

Marilyn Thorstensen was born in rural Beresford, SD on February 19, 1938, to Theodore and Mabel (Boom) Thorstensen.

She spent her childhood in rural Irene, SD and graduated from Viborg High School.

On August 22, 1964, she married Ellsworth Gregoire in Luverne, MN. They owned and operated an auto body repair shop and trailer court for many years in Vermillion. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Hospital Auxiliary.

Marilyn is survived by son Kevin Gregoire of Vermillion, two stepchildren: Suzanne Lind, and Karen Johnson, both of Tucson, AZ, one sister Marlys Torgerson of Sioux Falls, SD, and several nieces and nephews from both sides of her family.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Theodore and Mabel, husband Ellsworth on June 14, 1989, stepson David on December 29, 2015, sister Gloria in January of 2017.
