Rachel Schoepf (Borstad)

September 23, 1941 — December 11, 2019

Rachel Diane Schoepf was born September 23, 1941 at Brookings, South Dakota, the daughter of Bennie and Barbara (Noon) Borstad. She died on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 in Vermillion, South Dakota with family by her side, at the age of 78.

She spent her early years growing up in Brookings, S.D. graduating from Brookings High School in 1959. Married her husband and classmate, Gary Schoepf, September 22, 1959. Rachel and Gary worked for his father at Harold’s Printing. They were blessed with four daughters. Sherri, Susan, Sandra, Sara.

Gary and Rachel moved their family to manage and own Creative Printing Co. in Huron, South Dakota. Many friends and family evolved during the 17 years living in Huron.

In 1978 the business was sold, and the Schoepf family moved to Colorado, living in Colorado Springs, and Windsor, Colorado. Rachel recruited into Mary Kay sales and marketing. She was the 1st group of 1100 consultants that won V.I.P. sales cars, awards, and trips during the length of her career. Rachel advanced to Sales Director, and was still active as a Mary Kay consultant.

Rachel, Gary and family moved to Nebraska in 1982. Living in O’Neill, Beemer, and Norfolk. Rachel was most recently a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Norfolk, NE, where she enjoyed time with her friends in the “Christ Care” group. She was always devoted to her faith and family. She lived the M.K. motto, God 1st, Family 2nd, Career 3rd.

Rachel is survived by her husband, Gary, of 60 years celebrated in September 2019. Sherri (Jeff) Baseley Sioux Falls, SD, Susan (Rodney) Oberle, Vermillion, SD, Sandra (John) Thurlow, Loveland, CO, Sara Schoepf, Norfolk, NE. Six Grandchildren, Twelve Great Grandchildren. Mother, Barb Borstad, Brookings, SD; Sisters, Donna (Kelly) DeVoss, Powell, Wyoming. Debbie (Keven) Perry, Brookings, SD; Sisters-in-law: Nicki Brooks, Brookings, SD, Merri (Hank) Nelson, Sioux Falls, SD. Brothers-in-law: Eugene Boortz, Ft. Collins, CO.; Sid Bostic, Scottsdale, AZ. Several Nieces and Nephews.

Rachel is proceeded in death by her Father, Bennie, and two sisters, Bonnie Bostic and Karen Boortz. Gary’s parents, Harold & Anica Schoepf Brothers-in-Law, Robert Nemitz, Powell, WY.; Robert Brooks, Brookings SD
